International Institute Representative Speech

On the morning of April 29, the Symposium of International Cooperation and Exchange of the BJAST (Beijing Academy of Science and Technology) and the Special Symposium on "Research on the Path of Promoting Non-governmental Exchange and Cooperation in Science and Technology by the "ZGC Global High-level Think Tank Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the Think Tank Alliance) was held successfully. The following representatives and scholars visited the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology for an exchange and discussion and conducted a special symposium on "Research on the Path of Promoting Non-governmental Exchange and Cooperation in Science and Technology by the Think Tank Alliance: Ju Hong Shin, Chief Representative and Director of Qingdao Representative Office of South Korea Production Technology Research Institute; Ma Yan, Section Chief of the Qingdao Representative Office; Frank Wong, consultant of Oxentia and Project Manager of China; and Vrajaindra Upadhyay, Chair Professor of the Institute of Social Sciences, New Delhi, and former professor and head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and former member of the Steering Committee of the World Association for Political Economy. Wu Jianmin, President of the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology and Chairman of the Think Tank Alliance, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The following personnel participated in the discussion and exchange: Li Gongyue, Division Director of the Technology Achievement Transformation Division, Li Junkai, Director of the Center for International and Regional Cooperation of BJAST and Secretary-General of the Think Tank Alliance, and Geng Nan, Deputy Director of the above center and others.. Li Junkai presided over the Symposium and introduced the relevant information of the Beijing Academy of Sciences and Technology and the Think Tank Alliance. 

Wu Jianmin expressed his gratitude to the representatives of international cooperation agencies for their visits and support to the Forum at first. He pointed out that international cooperation and exchanges in science and technology are facing many challenges and opportunities. He hopes that through this symposium, we will have in-depth exchanges with representatives of international institutions, actively explore new models and paths for international exchanges and cooperation in science and technology, and promote the deep integration and collaborative development of science and technology innovation. 

Li Junkai introduced the basic information of Beijing Academy of Sciences and Technology on its development priorities, platform bases, and progress of international cooperation, as well as on the background, resource advantages and major activities of the Think Tank Alliance. Ju Hong Shin, Frank Wong and Vrajaindra Upadhyay introduced their institutions respectively and put forward specific proposals for cooperation with the Beijing Academy of Sciences and Technology. These proposals cover aspects including scientific and technological research and development, personnel training, achievement transformation, project cooperation, etc. 

In the session of exchange and discussion, Wu Jianmin put forward cooperation suggestions for each international cooperation organization, such as jointly applying for international cooperation projects in science and technology with the South Korea Institute of Production Technology, co-hosting large-scale events, cooperating with Oxentia to carry out technical manager training, and holding special symposiums on science and technology and on economic and social development with the Institute of Social Sciences, New Delhi , India. Li Gongyue had discussions with international organizations on the international cooperation needs of BJAST for the technological achievements transformation, and reached a preliminary cooperation intention with Oxentia on the specific content of technical manager training. 

Finally, the special discussion was focused on the research on the path that the Think Tank Alliance promotes non-governmental exchanges and cooperation in science and technology. Experts at the symposium conducted in-depth exchanges on how to enable the the Think Tank Alliance, to promote non-governmental exchanges and innovation in science and technology , and put forward many valuable suggestions and opinions. 

The success of this symposium has built a good platform for cooperation between the Beijing Academy of Science, Technology, the Think Tank Alliance and international institutions, and laid a solid foundation for future exchanges and cooperation in science and technology. It is believed that with the joint efforts of all organizations, international scientific and technological cooperation will be more fruitful in the future.
